About our Mentoring Service
Previously there has been no formal mentoring programme within the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of New Zealand (HFESNZ). Funding and support from Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ) have facilitated initiatives to build capability within the Human Factors and Ergonomics (HFE) profession in New Zealand through the development of a competency framework, educational pathways, scholarships and mentoring.
Mentoring is about facilitating another’s personal growth and development to develop skills, improve performance and maximise their potential. The relationship is dynamic and reciprocal. Within such a relationship, the Mentor assists with career development and guides the Mentee through their career’s organisational, social, and political challenges.
